HCG+ß ( Pregnancy Indication )
The Beta hCG test measures the concentration of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) in your blood, a hormone produced by the placenta shortly after a fertilised egg implants in the uterus. It is the most reliable method of confirming early pregnancy and can detect pregnancy earlier than a standard urine test. The test also plays a role in monitoring pregnancy progress and screening for certain health conditions.
Who Should Get Tested?
You should consider a Beta hCG test if you have a missed or late period, breast tenderness or swelling, nausea or morning sickness, unexplained fatigue, or frequent urination. The test is also recommended if you are experiencing pelvic or abdominal pain (to rule out ectopic pregnancy), unusual spotting or bleeding, or if a home pregnancy test has given an unclear result. In non-pregnancy contexts, hCG can serve as a tumour marker for certain conditions including ovarian, uterine, and testicular cancers.
Understanding Your Results

A single hCG result cannot distinguish between a normal pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy, or miscarriage. If your levels are rising but slower than expected, your clinic team may recommend follow-up testing or an ultrasound referral.
