Progesterone ( Ovulation )

The Progesterone test measures the level of progesterone in your blood, a steroid hormone essential for the menstrual cycle, pregnancy maintenance, and early fetal development. Progesterone prepares the uterine lining for implantation and supports pregnancy throughout its early stages. Measuring progesterone levels helps assess ovulation, fertility, and pregnancy health. No fasting is required.

Who Should Get Tested?

You should consider a progesterone test if you are trying to conceive and want to confirm ovulation, experiencing irregular or absent periods, have had recurrent miscarriages, or are undergoing fertility treatment such as IVF. Understanding Your Results

Progesterone Level	Phase
Below 3.18 nmol/L	Follicular phase (pre-ovulation) normal low levels before egg release.
3.18 to 15.9 nmol/L	Mid-cycle rising levels indicate ovulation is occurring.
Above 15.9 nmol/L	Luteal phase (post-ovulation) confirms ovulation has occurred. Levels remain high if pregnancy is established.
